The insurance company offered me $200. I think that’s ridiculous. I did not have surgery or an MRI. An MRI alone would cost over $200. My symptoms lasted several months. I think** I’m ok now, about a year later but I don’t do any strenous activity with that arm.
About 4 months after the accident, I tried to start my lawn mower and I believe I re-injured my arm by doing so. I didn’t tell anyone for fear that would nullify my claim.
I’m don’t believe I should sue or get a lot of $$$, but, I think the fact that I couldn’t do normal activities for a few months (pick up my daughter, start the mower, etc.) is worth more than $200.
The insurance co. paid $3600 to repair my car. This was a low speed (about 30mph), head on collision.
Another part of my question would be, how do I tell them what I think I deserve? I’ve been avoiding the adjuster for about 6 months now. I just don’t pick up the phone since the $200 offer
You should call an "injury" attorney. They will talk to you free and handle your case on a percentage basis. They will tell you if the offer is high enough. Dont try to negotiate with the insurance company on your own.

Personally, I think you should get thousands, having been a victim of the system myself with a neck injury but……
You should consult with a personal injury lawyer. He or she will be the only one to tell you whether or not you should have been paid more. I can tell you this, soft tissue injuries, which is what you have, usually don’t "cash in" in a law suit or an insurance company. They couldn’t afford it. So go and have a free consultation and get professional advice. Not likely you’ll find it here on YA (with all due respect to the legal eagles out there who have time to spend on YA).
